I went down that route as well using Telerik's validation and ended up taking a different path entirely. Instead of using Telerik's validation, I rolled my own and call it manually from within the DatePicker. Change event.I need cure for herpes post comment
It's pretty simple and gets around the shortcoming of no validation being executed when a user keys in the data manually:. Posted 07 Oct Link to this post. This many years on and it's still a thing, I feel like kendo keeps putting out new widgets and supporting new frameworks, but we never get the basics like this giant hole covered.
Validation on DatePicker Control

Posted 11 Oct in reply to Dimiter Topalov Link to this post. Or fire the change event all the time so the functionality could easily be handled by us. That for me is the core stumbling block, the content has changed, but no event fires so I have to handle both onChanged, AND a custom onBlur for every datepicker on the site.
Posted 11 Oct in reply to Steve Link to this post. The problem is the "change" event only fires the one time properly returning null, which is what I would want to act on anyway then just stops.

The Validator also creates rules for the unobtrusive attributes that are generated implicitly by MVC for numbers and dates. To implement a custom validation attribute, include a ShippedDate field to the model and implement a GreaterDateAttribute attribute that will check whether the selected ShippedDate value is greater than the selected OrderDate. Implement a Validator rule that will handle all inputs with the data-val-greaterdate attribute.
Editable helpers, such as the Grid and ListView, initialize the Validator internally. To specify custom rules, you have to extend the built-in validation rules of the Validator. You can also use this approach to define rules after the scripts are included and to use them in all views.Instagram profile unlocker
After including the scripts, override the default ignore setting to enable the validation of the hidden elements—for example, helpers like the DropDownList and NumericTextBox have a hidden input to keep the value.
Define the model and create the editors. For more information, refer to the section on using the Validator with DataAnnotation attributes. The validation error classes are applied to the inputs that are validated so that the style will not be visible for helpers that use a hidden input to keep their value.
To show an error style, copy the class to the visible helper by using the approach from the kendo-input-widgets-validation sample project on GitHub. All Rights Reserved. See Trademarks for appropriate markings.

I am using kendo controls for my project. I was using jquery validation to validate my controls at client side but as jquery validation is not working for kendo controls so I am using kendo validators to validate the controls. I am using dataannotation validation with MVC 5 project.
Here is sample dojo. It is working perfect but the validation only appear on focus-out or blur event. Is there any way to validate control on change of value of control like jquery validation?
You can read adding jquery validation to kendo ui elements. You should implement desired event for the validation purpose. Here you need onChange event to work like jQuery Unobtrusive Validation. Use the following code as it describes what to do:. You may want to use both of them!
So take a look at. Net Mvc 3 Trigger other than submit button Unobtrusive Validation.
The validation is called by filtering event for the same input. Note that you should use desired event based on UI element, here we used filtering for autocomplete instead of using change for DropDownList. I recently found a new implementation which is looking good to try and test. The Kendo UI Validator offers an easy way to do client-side form validation. Built around the HTML5 form validation attributes, it supports variety of built-in validation rules, but also provides a convenient way for setting custom rules handling.
This message will override any Validator defaults and be dispalyed in the Validator error tooltip. Each custom rule will be run for each element in a form. If there are multiple inputs in the form and the validation should only apply to a specific input, the custom validation code should check the input before validating. For example:.

If there are multiple custom rules, the rules will run in order. The validation will stop at the first rule that fails and display the validation error message associated with that rule. A form will be valid only if all custom validation rules pass in addition to the standard HTML5 constraints.
Any HTML5 constraints applied to a form required, type, etc. Custom rules will not run until a input passes the basic HTML5 constraints. Custom messages must match the name of the custom rule. If a custom message is not provided for a custom rule, a simple error icon will be displayed.Tecnologie di sviluppo per il web sommario
Customizing the tooltip position:. Ideally Kendo Validator places its tooltips besides the validated input. However, if the input is later enhanced to a ComboBox, AutoComplete or other Kendo Widget, placing the tooltip beside the input may cover important information or break the widget rendering.

In this case, you can specify where exactly do you want the tooltip to be placed by adding a span with data-for attribute set to the validated input name and a class. Kendo UI validation framework often use the term "rule", what is it really referring to?
If you do not normally think of validation as a series of rules, well, it is. Validation is a series of rules. The attribute "required" is a rule, which states that this field is required. When we instantiate the kendoValidator object, we can specify the setting validateOnBlur. By default, this setting is true, so kendo UI will run validation rules when the element loses focus. If we do not want kendo UI to perform validation when the element loses focus, we can specify false for the validateOnBlur setting.Built around the HTML5 form validation attributes, it supports a variety of built-in validation rules and provides a convenient way for setting custom-rule handling.
The Validator is a powerful framework component and essential for any application that collects user input. It allows you to use the normal HTML5 constraint attributes and then automatically makes these attributes work in all browsers Internet Explorer 7 and later while providing you with more possibilities for customization. You need to add a Validator to the page.

The step rule, when used in combination with the min and max attributes, constrains the granularity of the values that can be entered.
The date rule constrains the value to a valid date format. To validate the input, use kendo. You can set custom rules with the Validator by using its rules configuration option. Each custom rule is run for each element in a form.
If multiple inputs are available in the form and the validation has to apply only to a specific input, the custom validation code has to check the input before validating. However, as with other parts of HTML5, this rule only works in modern browsers. To create custom rules that work in all browsers, use the Kendo UI Validator custom rule definitions. By default, the Validator provides built-in messages which map to built-in validation rules.
However, the widget also allows you to define custom messages which override the built-in messages. In order for the custom error messages to work properly, you are required to set a name attribute to the input element. The following example demonstrates how to define custom messages when the validation rules are not fulfilled. Besides the available built-in messages, you can also define a custom message on a per component basis by using the following attributes in the following order:.
These attributes will be checked before applying the message from the messages configuration option. The following example demonstrates how the set multiple data-[rule]-msg attributes so that they allow a field to have different messages for each different validation rule. The following example demonstrates how to use the validationMessage attribute to specify a custom validation message. All Rights Reserved. See Trademarks for appropriate markings.
